Ah! One of my very favorite films, and a true unsung great. Thanks for reminding me it's been too many years since I last revisited it.
Just a programming note - TCM will be showing Local Hero on Tuesday November 9 at 10:00pm EST. It's part of an evening chosen by Guest Programmer Michael J Fox (his other films are Dr. Strangelove, The Parallax View and Kind Hearts and Coronets.
