Because it rarely gets as good as this...
James Cagney and Gladys George in Raoul Walsh's The Roaring Twenties (1939) could be a perfect movie......and Michael Caine butts heads with Nigel Davenport while rolling through the African desert on a doomed WWII mission to knock out a German fuel dump in Andre de Toth's Play Dirty (1968), about as sublimely mean and visually stunning a war adventure as I've ever seen...May all my attempts to live up to my own
modest movie-going proposal be as rewarding as this one was.
