Ah, so that's what it means! I thought it might be a secret invite to your kid's birthday party. Add my congrats, Dennis! By the way, I nominated you for Best Culture Blog in the 2006 Weblog Awards. And I hope you win!
Thanks, all. Maybe it was the espionage influence of the previous post that accounts for my being rather cryptic here-- as cryptic as Sesame Street's Zoe could be, anyway. But it was more my way of trying to quietly acknowledge my amazement that this blog is still here, about 22 months further down the road than I ever thought it would make it, without going all gushy or anything. That said, I thank all of you above (and a whole lot of others) for helping to make it interesting and exciting for me to keep it up. Salute!
And, TLRHB, Best Culture Blog? Wow! Thank you! You know, all those gushing actors and directors are right-- win or not, it really is nice just to get nominated, especially when I know where the nomination comes from. It means a lot to me that you would submit SLIFR for such an honor.
Happy Blogday, Dennis, my friend! I'm glad Thom McGregor figured out what that thing meant, so I could congratulate you. Keep up the good work--you and the blog keep getting better and better!
Tim, Brian, Flickhead, I do appreciate your warm wishes very much.
And thank you, Blaaagh, finest friend and original SLIFR reader. Knowing you're out there lurking and reading and commenting makes every post more fun!

P.S. You know your blog shares a birthday with our girl, Sharon, right? It's clearly an auspicious day for movie fans!
Ha, I also was confused! Happy birthday indeed SLIFR (another fellow Scorpio TLRHB)!

Happy BDay SLIFR Rider. Please educate me in the meaning or significance of "730". I seem to have missed something along the way.
ReplyDeleteIt's this kind of mastery of complicated algebraic formulations that got me through my recent CBEST test:
ReplyDelete1 (year) = 365 (days) x 2 = 730 (days)/2 years
Now I do feel Dumb! Your soggy brained cousin from Oregon. Thanks Teach. By the way great pic's of you, me, mom, & kids.
