To bide your time until I gather up the answers to
Professor Wagstaff’s Summer of 42 (Questions, That Is) Movie Quiz, you can take this special
quiz to determine your ultimate movie, the movie that defines your personality. (When you've got your movie, please feel free to check in and tell us what it is, and whether you agree.)
And if you’d rather just skip the quiz and wait for Professor Wagstaff’s answers, then consider whiling away a few moments appreciating this very special Claudia Cardinale gallery gathered together for anyone who appreciates timeless Italian beauty…
All one needs is eyes to see...
I took the test, I answered all 45 questions and it said, "You are "MR SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON". Determining and doing the right thing is the foundation of your personality." I think that is pretty close, what do you think?
ReplyDeleteI haven't mustered the nerve to do it yet. Too afraid I'm gonna turn out to be "Stella Dallas" or something, I guess...
ReplyDeleteHey, Rodger, congratulations on the recognition you're getting over at 8763 Wonderland... I have been officially hooked ever since I first looked in after you first posted here. I highly recommend your site to everyone.
Murray: Yours is pretty accurate, I guess. But how does the guy you stabbed and left for dead in that tulee patch back in Oregon figure into your all-American do-the-right-thing persona? Whoops? Should I have said that?
I took the short 9-question quiz and came up The Godfather-- something about living by the Mafia code.
ReplyDeleteIs it my imagination, or is Claudia Cardinale perfectly beautiful? I finally know the answer to this question I have had for my father all these years: Why did you take us to see that lame movie CIRCUS WORLD? (Kinda like my son asking me why I liked THE AVENGERS so much. Kid, someday you'll get it.)
Virgil Hilts
Yikes! I took the longest version of the quiz, stupidly, since I have to get up in 5 hrs., 18 mins., and here's what it tells me.
ReplyDelete"You are SUNSET BOULEVARD. You are all about fame and success and avoiding being seen as ordinary."
H'mmmm....
OK, now I took the shortest version of the quiz, and was transmogrified into "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." More like it...now I'm going to bed...and dream of Claudia Cardinale.
ReplyDeleteB.
Dennis, YEP, missed the main artery, still alive, and still in the tulee patch, with only a scratch to show for it. When did you trade Nastassja Kinski for Claudia? BRUCE, Your long answer seems to fit, you are from Oregon, you are a Duck, your best friend is named Reginald, nothing ordinary about that, nuf said.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell? I took the 45-question test, and somehow I ended up being Easy Rider-- "You just want to mantain a cool, calm and comfortable environment." Just? Am I being paranoid and oversensitive (it is late), or is that "just" just a bit reductive? I suppose that's more accurate than describing me as a disillusioned hippie biker/actor-director searching for America with just the leather fringe jacket on his back and a gas tank full of blow, but jeez, there's just so much more to me! (Am I sounding like Barbara Syanwyck yet?) I'm takin' this test again. And again. Until it gets it right!
ReplyDeleteMurray: Why are you awake? As for Nastassia Kinski, well, I believe it was G.D. Spradling in North Dallas Forty who said, "When I was a child, I thought as a child, I spake as a child..." Don't get me wrong-- NK's snake pose was charming (snake! charming!) back in the day, but Claudia Cardinale--well, see Virgil's comments above. There's just no comparison. She stands the test of time quite nicely and she does seem perfectly beautiful. Okay, I'm going to bed!
I do some of my best work between midnight and 6am, oh so peaceful and quiet, no interruptions of the phone or otherwise. My answer to the 9 question quiz was "Easy Rider". Dennis, I just wanted know if you remembered NK. Your taste in Claudia is superb.
ReplyDeleteI took the first three, skipping the long one. The short one gave me Platoon. The next two gave me Wuthering Heights, saying I'm a romantic or some bullshit. Weird. Absolutely, positively weird. I was shooting for American Gigolo, or perhaps even Fear and Loathing.
ReplyDeleteI always thought of Heathcliff when I thought of you... the cat, not Laurence Olivier, however.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy quiz...I keep getting "Sunset Boulevard." Therefore I pronounce that it's completely bogus. Now, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up.
ReplyDeleteMurray, you're right about the not-ordinary thing, and I'm damn proud to be a duck with a best friend named Reginald!
I, too, am a "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington". Having never seen it, I don't know if it's apropos or not.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do know that I've always had a HUGE crush on Jimmy Stewart. So, maybe there's something to it. ;)
"MR SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON." Methinks this quiz only has a very small number of movies to choose from. Otherwise it obviously would have given me my favorite movie, Abel Gance's Napoléon (1927)!
