I read through just about everyone's initial responses back in the summer and this "Best Of" highlights some great writing and ideas.

Small nit though...There's a bunch of the snippets that aren't attributed (considering you pulled out literally a thousand quotes, I'm not complaining!). OK, I suppose I care mostly because some of them are mine, but really, this isn't about me...B-)Bob Turnbullhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02243657105760780425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-25924075971420721872007-12-24T13:19:00.000-08:002007-12-24T13:19:00.000-08:00This was fun to scan through (I hope to give it a ...This was fun to scan through (I hope to give it a deeper read soon) and it was great to read my comment or request for Criterion to release Naked Prey since that terrific film is going to be released by them next month. At the time I mentioned it I had no idea the movie was even in their hands, but I'm really looking forward to that DVD release!

Happy holidays Dennis!!Kimberly Lindbergshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17605498572070631516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-77961296669206562662007-12-24T11:47:00.000-08:002007-12-24T11:47:00.000-08:00Tremendous to read through these again (a first pa...Tremendous to read through these again (a first pass, anyway; I'll have to come back for seconds and thirds another time). A couple of my own answers stick out for me again after six months. I did see Le Doulos at the Castro and was thrilled by it. My new favorite Melville for sure. And my non-answers to questions 27 and 28 (because I found it too morbid to give answers in the realm of possibility) were interesting to revisit as well. Just yesterday I read an interview with Tim Burton in which he appeared to be claiming to have seen London After Midnight (I suspect editorial ignorance is to blame though). And seeing my #28 answer, the long-demolished Fox Theatre, juxtaposed next to Ryland's answer reminded me that the Coronet, which six months ago was the largest non-IMAX screen in town, has been leveled to a grassy lot in the meantime.

Finally, though I didn't answer the extra credit six months ago, let me finally supply an answer to the atheist film festival question: M. Night Shyamalan's Signs. I suppose that needs some further explanation, but I gotta run for now...Brian Darrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17693169310367670898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-28572904876070398312007-12-23T10:04:00.000-08:002007-12-23T10:04:00.000-08:00Great list. And it was my first exposure to Bill. So good memories all around.

Please don't do the new quiz until after the holidays or I'll never be able to join in. When I'm home it's too busy. It's when I'm at work that I can really slack off and spend hours surfing the internet.Greghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05730146625671701859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-68528945632713561562007-12-23T09:56:00.000-08:002007-12-23T09:56:00.000-08:00Who the hell are you to judge us?But really, thank...Who the hell are you to judge us?

But really, thanks for this, Dennis.
