It's not even available through my usual source, Vudu, though I did see it was available on Amazon Instant. However, I opted for Jason Statham in SAFE last night instead (???), and now I guess I'm glad I did. Took me only a brief second to muster a good guess as to what might be the target of the scissors in HOLY MOTORS-- you'll see what I mean.

KILLER JOE being out there is somewhat heartening, in a strange sort of way, isn't it? Movies with that degree of an uncompromising edge don't see the light of day too often anymore. And it's not like this was in the mainstream or anything, but it's still good to hear echoes of a different time for films and filmmakers, and KILLER JOE is definitely that. Friedkin back in gear at his meanest. Whew.

Have you seen JADE? Is it as awful as advertised? I've always kind of suspected/hoped that it might be worth a look, but I've never taken the plunge.Dennis Cozzaliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01954848938471883431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-62409303095669929932013-02-28T08:38:43.212-08:002013-02-28T08:38:43.212-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Dennis Cozzaliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01954848938471883431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-62986962402905618712013-02-27T19:01:21.962-08:002013-02-27T19:01:21.962-08:00No they sure aren't giving those away, which i...No they sure aren't giving those away, which is why I opted for the standard DVD in this case -- cost about half as much. I would have just watched it on VOD, but apparently that version is somewhat edited.

And yes, KILLER JOE. I must say, the very existence of that movie strikes me as highly unlikely, and yet here we are.bill r.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17748572205731857892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-72574866761409065522013-02-27T18:22:28.930-08:002013-02-27T18:22:28.930-08:00And no matter what, we'll always have KILLER J...And no matter what, we'll always have KILLER JOE!Dennis Cozzaliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01954848938471883431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-78916608214943624762013-02-27T18:22:00.441-08:002013-02-27T18:22:00.441-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Dennis Cozzaliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01954848938471883431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-64195443449284623062013-02-27T18:21:25.868-08:002013-02-27T18:21:25.868-08:00Aww, you can gush all you want about THE MASTER. Glad LINCOLN ranked so highly for you, though (and I ordered HOLY MOTORS, which I hope to be able to see finally this weekend).bill r.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17748572205731857892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-66634699003535315062013-02-26T07:33:31.525-08:002013-02-26T07:33:31.525-08:00I highly recommend and Turn Me On, Damnit.
Still...I highly recommend and Turn Me On, Damnit.

Still too many films from 2012 that I have yet to see. My own pick for a film I liked that everyone else seemed to hate was Sector 7. As far as I'm concerned, it's the Korean monster movie informed by the spirit of Howard Hawks.Peter Nellhaushttp://www.coffeecoffeeandmorecoffee.comnoreply@blogger.com
