Your writing is b...Thanks for another great review. Your writing is both straightforward and evocative, much like Don Siegel's direction. I agree that CV is a classic, and have thought so since Day One. Siegel always cuts to the chase, but is so subtle in touch that it's easy to overlook, upon first viewing, the layering of character and nuance he adds. Here he's crafted an entertaining story that moves apace, but is also a complete work that's greater than the sum of the parts that he chooses to render, with an ending that is immensely satisfying -- until one remembers that all these characters (those that survive) should be doing jail time.
