I have been feeling a bit squirrely lately, so I'll try and use that as my lame excuse (don't know how to explain away my inability to see the racoon pictured above and still type "squirrel" though!) Color me species-illiterate and just a bit embarrassed! And thanks for pointing it out. I do appreciate it!Dennis Cozzaliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01954848938471883431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1149381718194207982006-06-03T17:41:00.000-07:002006-06-03T17:41:00.000-07:00Bruce Willis voices a raccoon, not a squirrel, but...Bruce Willis voices a raccoon, not a squirrel, but great review.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1149313868144251312006-06-02T22:51:00.000-07:002006-06-02T22:51:00.000-07:00Took grandkids, all 4 of them to Over the Hedge to...Took grandkids, all 4 of them to Over the Hedge tonight and had a blast. Stacie 9 years old, and Kaylee 5 years thouroughly enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. Shelby 3, and Layton 2 on the other hand going to the movie for the very first time at a theater, loved the 1st half hour, and the big tub of popcorn, then got bored and wanted to wonder around, and did not understand why they could not, so it was time for mom and grandma to take them home which we were prepared to do, while dad, grandpa, Stacie, and Kaylee watched a very fun and funny movie. Up next... I have a nephew that works at Pixar and I will tell you that CGI or more correctly, digital animation is far from being a PUNCH PRESS product. Loads and loads of time and effort and creative talent gets poured into this type of ARTWORK and to see Dreamworks create a film that is on par with a studio like Pixar is joy to behold.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1149050463830241632006-05-30T21:41:00.000-07:002006-05-30T21:41:00.000-07:00I too found myself enjoying this movie immensely. ...I too found myself enjoying this movie immensely. I have to say that it's great to see another digital animation studio create a funny, witty, sarcastic, "tongue in cheek" film and I hope there are other studios to follow. That scene you speak of with the "jolt" style energy drink had me rolling on the floor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1149050278672765462006-05-30T21:37:00.000-07:002006-05-30T21:37:00.000-07:00I haven't seen this yet, but I'm still irritated t...I haven't seen this yet, but I'm still irritated that it's CGI. I'm a fan of the comic (the early years, anyway), and part of its appeal is its detailed and distinctive visual appeal. So to see that punch-pressed into CGI seems... wrong. Like attempting to recreate the magic of Lolita on a Speak 'n' Spell. (Hyperbole much?)

The reviews, though, (this one included) make me think I should give it a chance despite my animosity towards Dreamworks Animation.Steve C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01958138092537744506noreply@blogger.com
