I wondered what your strongest memory of her would be when you heard of her passing.

As for Snake and his questions, they are a good and an interesting lot, and there are a couple of things about the comment that make me wonder if he might not be a voice from my past trying to make contact (what, like one of the apparitions from Poltergeist or something?)-- the Kate Bush reference, the Alan Parker dig, the Paula Abdul/Jody Watley mention. But the reference to George "Buck" Fowler threw me for a loop-- I'm not sure of too many people who know about this this guy off the top of their head. I will engage Mr. Plissken and his questions in an upcoming post!Dennis Cozzaliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01954848938471883431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1133494801457303182005-12-01T19:40:00.000-08:002005-12-01T19:40:00.000-08:00I heard about her death earlier today and was sad-...I heard about her death earlier today and was sad--but thanks for writing such a nice piece about her; I, too, remember her best from "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" (what happened to that movie, anyway? I remember liking it quite a bit)--and I think it's awesome that she did the work she did on behalf of other cancer sufferers. Good point about how she wasn't one of those large performers who are ridiculed in their roles because they're big.

As for this Snake Plissken character, I heard his second movie wasn't as good as his first, but I like his list of questions--pretty funny. I didn't know about the Johnny Cash album, for example--and how did he know you liked Kate Bush? No comment on the Alan Parker issue, lest my head explode.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1133477664926165812005-12-01T14:54:00.000-08:002005-12-01T14:54:00.000-08:00Thanks for the tribute to Wendie Jo. It's a terrible loss.

On a happier note, Big D, I was wondering if we could get your opinion(s) on the following:

1) The new Kate Bush album. (You do know that she has a new one, don't you?)

2) The ouevre of the man who is possibly the greatest director of all time: Mr. Alan "Pink Floyd: The Wall" Parker.

3) The newly remastered CD of "Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison". They left all the cuss words in, and I think it has the best version of "John Henry" I've ever heard. What do you think?

4) Paula Abdul vs. Jody Whatley: Whose music stands the test of time?

5) Is a 32-ounce Big Gulp of Mountain Dew just TOO MUCH MOUNTAIN DEW?

6) The Best of George 'Buck' Flower. That dude appeared in more than a hundred flicks. Which do you particularly recommend?

I know your focus is on cinema/baseball, but I really dig your blog and like your writing style, and I would like to know what you think about the above matters.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
