I'm sure I'll catch it anyway, at least on DVD...or maybe I'll forget my chores today and go see it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1140420574427564322006-02-19T23:29:00.000-08:002006-02-19T23:29:00.000-08:00Dennis - I enjoyed Final Destination 3. With the power of the internet, people are able to read reviews from peers in an instant and make a judgment as to whether or not they really should shell out the money. Movies are expensive to go out and see in this day and age. I went to see this movie with the mindset that this would be a fun way to "turn off the outside world and escape." And in this regard, it succeeded. As far as movie suggestions go, a friend of mine mentioned that Wolf Creek was a good horror film, but I have yet to see it. Have you seen it?Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05449886672158558628noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1140414844910010932006-02-19T21:54:00.000-08:002006-02-19T21:54:00.000-08:00TLRHB: No, FD2 doesn't skimp on the gore, but it's...TLRHB: No, FD2 doesn't skimp on the gore, but it's done with some wit and, dare I say, panache that the new installment completely lacks. And I completely agree with your singling out the barbed-wire fence sequence (see the above update). As for Hostage, I'd heard rumblings that it was a good, overlooked genre piece-- on your recommendation, I'll have to check it out!Dennis Cozzaliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01954848938471883431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1140399252347866142006-02-19T17:34:00.000-08:002006-02-19T17:34:00.000-08:00Dennis — on your enthusiasm, and my love for the f...Dennis — on your enthusiasm, and my love for the first Final Destination, I rented Part Deux today. It was fun, but in a very gross way. Had to turn away a few times. But when the guy got sliced up by the fence, I had to admit that was one of the funniest visual scenes I've ever seen in a horror movie. (Hey, even if the movie had sucked, a couple hours with Ali Lauter? No problem.)
By the way, did you ever see Hostage, the Bruce Willis movie from early last year? Another graphic sleeper that I thought was overlooked, and featuring a brilliantly creepy performance by Ben Foster as this Marilyn Manson-like kidnapper. Check it out sometime. The 'Stachehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03426658288145524160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1140203011948346822006-02-17T11:03:00.000-08:002006-02-17T11:03:00.000-08:00Must...see...Final Destination 3...I'm sure it can...Must...see...Final Destination 3...I'm sure it can't be as much fun as the second one, which I sheepishly admit to having seen three or four times (!), but still. Roscoe, unless you completely hate horror films, you ought to see the second one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795280.post-1140200073546500212006-02-17T10:14:00.000-08:002006-02-17T10:14:00.000-08:00Sarcastic?
